Nonprofits for domestic violence survivors unable to access funds after federal freeze
2 min read
Two nonprofit organizations that provide services for domestic violence survivors said they were unable to access federal grants to fund their work Tuesday.
After the federal funding freeze on Tuesday, organizations are afraid of the effects the executive order will have on their budgets. A federal judge temporarily blocked this freeze, and it’s unclear what will happen until Monday.
The federal Office of Management and Budget said they’re requesting a pause on certain grants so that President Donald Trump can see if he wants to continue supporting them.
Examples of nonprofits affected are Safety Compass and Clackamas Women’s Center.
