Florida school leader downplays principal hosting underage house party: ‘things happen’

A Florida elementary school principal and teacher are facing charges for allegedly hosting and/or attending a house party with up to 200 kids that ended in chaos. Students told police that alcohol and marijuana were at the party. To be clear, the principal and teacher are not directly accused of supplying either, but moreso knowing that it was there. At least one kid was recorded with a gun at the party, there were reports of fights, and at least one attendee was charged with DUI.

Brevard Public Schools board chair, Gene Trent, says "things happen" in response to the drunken teen party hosted by an elementary school teacher and principal which led to both of their arrests.
