Angry crowd greets Gluesenkamp Perez at town hall after voter registration vote
1 min read
A tense and angry crowd flooded a Vancouver town hall for Washington’s U.S. Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, D-Skamania, Thursday.
The uproar was triggered over her support for a Republican-led bill that would change voter registration rules.
She was one of just four Democrats who voted in support of President Donald Trump’s Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act or the SAVE Act.
Many held signs and chanted, "Vote her out," as a jab at Perez.
“I do not support noncitizens voting in American elections, and that’s common sense to folks in Southwest Washington," Perez said in a press release.
