Trump meets with Canadian prime minister amid trade tensions

President Donald Trump hosted Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at the White House on Tuesday afternoon. The meeting comes amid historic tensions between both countries. The two countries’ relations have seen saw rapid deterioration since the beginning of Trump’s second term due to tariffs and annexation threats towards Canada, with recent polls suggesting increased distrust of the United States by Canadians.
