An inside look at Portland International Airport phase 2 renovations
2 min read
We got an inside look at the construction at Portland International Airport on Tuesday.
The Port of Portland opened the new main terminal last year, but the last 30% of renovations are still underway.
When it’s all done, the new spaces are designed to help everyone move in and out of PDX.
"It’s going to be designed and outfitted to match the rest of the new main terminal. As you can see, we still have a ways to go. Construction is going to be going on through 2026,” said Allison Ferre, spokesperson for the Port of Portland. “But travelers have a lot to look forward to when that’s done. The bypasses are going to be gone. So they’re going to have new direct routes straight from the concourses to baggage claim. No more construction detours once you land."
Essentially, when those smaller portions of the main terminal reopen, it will be easier to get through and out of the airport.
