Portland Public Schools proposes budget amid several million dollar budget shortfall

Portland Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Kimberlee Armstrong laid out district priorities Tuesday before explaining how she and her team came up with the proposed budget of nearly $2 billion for the next school year. It’s technically 15% less money than the budget for this year.
Those priorities include early literacy achievement and K-12 academic success. But that’s not all.
