President Trump talks about Amazon removing ‘tariff prices’ before heading to Michigan

Retail giant Amazon is in a dispute with the White House over the potential inclusion of tariff costs on its product prices. The Daily Mail reported that Amazon plans to add the cost of tariffs to its price tags, a move that has drawn strong criticism from the Trump administration.

During a press briefing on Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt displayed a picture of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and said, "This is a hostile and political act against America."

Amazon has since clarified that it is not planning to list added tariff costs next to product prices on its site, despite speculation from a report suggesting the e-commerce giant would soon show new import charges. The company stated that the proposal to include tariffs applies only to its ultra-low-cost Amazon Haul store and has not yet been implemented. According to the Washington Post, listing tariffs on its main site was never considered.
