Portland Public Schools teachers’ union expresses concern over budget priorities

We’re hearing from Portland Public Schools families for the first time since Superintendent Kimberlee Armstrong unveiled her budget proposal, which involves over $40 million in cuts. The district says this is because of declining enrollment, insufficient state funding, and rising costs.
Members of the Portland Association of Teachers greeted people at the doors of Grant High School with messages like, “Let’s do better PPS” and "cut class sizes not educators."
