Kyron Horman case revisited 15 years after disappearance from Portland elementary school

It’s been 15 years since anyone has seen Kyron Horman, a little boy who vanished from Skyline Elementary School in Northwest Portland on June 4th, 2010.

Over the years, little information has been released about his disappearance. The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office tells KATU that Horman’s case is still considered an "active" investigation. The office has released age renderings of Horman showing what he might look like today, rather than the seven-year-old boy he was when he went missing.

The last person to see him alive was his stepmother, Terri Horman, who has since remarried and goes by Terri Vazquez. She said she dropped him off at school.

The case shook the local community, and family members are continuing to push for answers and bring Kyron home.

No one has ever been charged in the case.

On Wednesday, the Multnomah County District Attorney Nathan Vasquez says he’s taking a look at the case as we approach the 15th anniversary.

"I want to reaffirm my continued commitment to this case. When I met with Desiree Young as the incoming District Attorney, I assured her that open communication would be a priority. My office has begun a thorough and methodical review of the case with fresh eyes," he said in a statement to KATU. "This is a painstaking process involving tens of thousands of pages of reports, records, and other evidence. We have a dedicated team assigned to the case and I am now being regularly briefed on its current status and what steps may follow."
