Oregon prepares for early wildfire season

As the state braces for what could be another intense wildfire season, Gov. Tina Kotek and state fire officials held a press conference at Oregon’s largest wildfire supply depot to discuss the state’s readiness efforts.

Kotek declared May "Wildfire Awareness Month" and urged Oregonians to act now by clearing brush, inspecting equipment, and signing up for emergency alerts.

"We’re blessed with some of the best coordination in the country," said Kotek. "But it takes all Oregonians doing their part."
