DUII suspect stabbed to death by deputy after reaching for deputy’s gun

An investigation is underway at the Washington State Patrol weigh station just off I-5 in Ridgefield after an officer-involved stabbing.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded around 11 p.m. Wednesday to a crash near NE 14th Court and Minnehaha Street in Vancouver.

Responding deputies began a DUI investigation after they found a vehicle that had crashed into two parked cars in the area.

Deputies then took the DUI suspect to the weigh station in Ridgefield since it had a room equipped with a breath alcohol analyzer for DUI investigations.

According to the press release, they arrived at the weigh station at 11:33 p.m. Roughly 30 minutes later, at 11:58 p.m., the deputy reported over the radio that he was fighting with the DUI suspect.
